The tallest vase is a twin-mouth vase made of porcelain clay standing 6.68 m. (21.9 ft.) high. It was constructed at the Shui-Li Snake Kiln Ceramics Cultural Park, Ting Kan Village, Taiwan, over a period of six months and finished on 10 June 2000. The vase was produced by three specialists, Lin Mu-Chang, Chiang Ta-lung and LIn Kuo-lung starting on December 6, 1999. Following traditional techniques they used a large coil and paddle to model the shape of the vase then built a kiln around it for firing. Once it cooled the kiln was removed and the waiting crowd saw the vase for the first time. The project used a total of 2.7 tons of porcelain clay. The men were all in their 70s and said they had trouble sleeping once they'd decided on making the vase, such was the enormity of the task. A number of vase bases were lop-sided and had to be discarded, and the vase started again from scratch.
