Bad Bunny’s (Puerto Rico, b. Benito Martínez Ocasio) fourth studio set EL ÚLTIMO TOUR DEL MUNDO crowned the US Billboard 200 albums chart on 12 December 2020, making it the first all-Spanish-language album to reach No.1 in the chart’s history.

While other albums featuring Spanish-language tracks have topped the all-genre Billboard 200 – most notably Selena’s Dreaming of You (1995), Santana’s Supernatural (1999-2000) and Il Divo’s Ancora (2006) – EL ÚLTIMO TOUR DEL MUNDO (“The Last Tour of the World”) was the first album to feature a track list made up entirely of songs in Spanish, including the singles “DAKITI” (featuring Jhay Cortez), “YO VISTO ASÍ”, “BOOKER T” and “LA NOCHE DE ANOCHE” (featuring Rosalía). All 16 tracks were co-written by Bad Bunny.

The Latin trap/reggaeton rapper/singer’s previous studio album, YHLQMDLG, narrowly missed out on the accolade after stalling at No.2 behind Lil Baby’s My Turn on 14 March 2020.

After registering 116,000 equivalent album units to bow at the top – including 145.94 million on-demand track streams – Bad Bunny’s reign at No.1 was short-lived: EL ÚLTIMO… dropped to No.2 on 19 December 2020 and to No.9 the week after.
