The first person to complete a marathon distance on foot underwater is Lloyd Scott (UK), in Loch Ness, Scotland, UK, on 9 October 2013.
Lloyd Scott is a former firefighter and professional football (soccer) player. After over one month of training, as well as gaining his diving qualifications, Lloyd attempted this challenge to raise awareness and fundraise for leukaemia charities, having himself been diagnosed with leukaemia years prior.
His suit weighed approximately 80 kg (176 lb) and was also used during another successful record attempt for the most consecutive steps climbed in an antique diving suit (1,037) the same year.
