The fastest non-motorized ascent of Kangchenjunga (8,586 m; 28,169 ft) from sea level is 76 days by Christian Stangl (Austria), who, between March and May 2011, cycled from the Bay of Bengal in India to the Himalayas, walked for 11 days to Kangchenjunga base camp, then, on 20 May, without bottled oxygen, climbed to the top.
Stangl also holds the Guinness World Records title for the person to successfully climb the "Triple Seven Summits" – the first, second, and third-highest mountains on all seven continents.
