The world's heaviest edible fungi was an example of the edible 'chicken of the woods' mushroom (Laetiporus sulphureus) which weighed 45.35 kg (100 lb) and was found in the New Forest, Hampshire, UK by Giovanni Paba of Broadstone, Dorset on 15 October 1990.
