Lowest friction

The lowest coefficient of static and dynamic friction of any solid is 0.03. This result was achieved by sliding Hi-T-Lube on itself. The material is manufactured by General Magnaplate Corporation of Linden, New Jersey, USA.

In the centrifuge at the University of Virginia, USA a 13.6kg 30lb rotor magnetically supported has been spun at 1000rev/sec in a vacuum of 10_6mm of mercury pressure. It loses only one revolution per second per day, thus spinning for years.
