Between 6 December 2018 and 9 May 2019, Russian explorer Fyodor Konyukhov rowed from Port Chalmers in New Zealand to the Diego Ramírez Islands off Chile. He covered 4,036 nautical miles (7,475 km; 4,644 miles) in 154 days 13 hr 37 min. At the start of his trip, Konyukhov (b. 12 Dec 1951) was aged 66 years 359 days – the oldest person to row solo across the Pacific.
