Most murders per year (country)

According to the Tenth United Nations' Survey of Crime Trends and Operations of Criminal Justice Systems, covering the period 2005 - 2006, which defines intentional homicide (murder) as death deliberately inflicted on a person by another person, including infanticide, India has the greatest number of murders of any of the 86 countries listed in the report. It had a total of 32,481 in 2006.
