Largest drugs haul by value

The most valuable drugs haul occurred on 28 September 1989, when cocaine with an estimated street value of $6–7 billion (£3.7–4.4 billion) was seized in a raid on a warehouse in Los Angeles, California, USA. The haul of 20 tonnes was prompted by a tip-off from a local resident who had complained about heavy lorry traffic and people leaving the warehouse 'at odd hours and in a suspicious manner'.
