The first explorers to kayak/raft the Colca River Canyon was achieved by Jacek Bogucki (Poland), Zbigniew Bzdak (Poland), Piotr Chmielinski (Poland), Stefan Danielski (Poland), Krzysztof Krasniewski (Poland), Jerzy Majcherczyk (Poland) and Andrzej Pietowski (Poland) on the 1 June 1981.
The Colca River Canyon in Southern Peru is the world's deepest river canyon more than 2.5 miles at its maximum depth. The expedition was portrayed in the film "Godspeed, Los Polacos!", released in 2021.
