The first openly transgender man to appear on the cover of TIME Magazine is Elliot Page (USA), who appeared on the cover of the magazine on 29 March 2021.
The March/April cover shows Page alongside the caption 'I'm fully who I am'.
Speaking with TIME for his first interview since disclosing he is transgender via an Instagram post in December 2020, Page is quoted as saying "what I was anticipating was a lot of support and love and a massive amount of hatred and transphobia... that's essentially what happened." He discusses how he "felt like" and "wanted to be a boy" growing up, adding "I would ask my mom if I could be someday." Having now transitioned, Page - who starred in films including Juno and Inception - says "I’m really excited to act, now that I’m fully who I am, in this body".
