Most witnesses of an apparition

On the occasion of the sixth, and last, apparition of the Virgin Mary to three children at Fatima, Portugal, on 13 October 1917, some 70,000 people witnessed the Sun appear to `dance' in the sky immediately after the children received the vision. The globe seemed to rotate in a circle, falling, then rising again. The Fatima apparitions were officially recognised by the Roman Catholic Church in 1930.
