Most marriages - bigamous

The record for bigamous marriages is 104, by Giovanni Vigliotto, one of many aliases used by either Fred Jipp (b. New York City, 3 April 1936) or Nikolai Peruskov (b. Siracusa, Sicily, 3 April 1929) between 1949 and 1981 in 27 US states and 14 other countries. On 28 March 1983 in Phoenix, Arizona, USA he received 28 years for fraud and six for bigamy, and was fined $336,000 (£225,000). He died in February 1991.

Warren Jeffs (USA), a self-proclaimed prophet and president of the 12,000-strong Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, is married to 80 women and has fathered over 250 children.
