The largest collection of rotating puzzles is 2,302, and was achieved by Florian Kastenmeier (Germany) in Mindelheim, Bavaria, Germany, on 21 August 2024.

As well as having over 2,000 rotating puzzles in his home, Florian also has Rubik's themed t-shirts, sweaters, shoes, pillows, cups and much more.

Florian was born in the early eighties around the time the Rubik's Cube was first released. As with most households at the time his family had a puzzle cube amongst the toys available.

He didn't think about these puzzles much after that until he discovered his first cube in a cardboard box while moving home. This rediscovery ignited his passion for rotating puzzles and inspired him to begin collecting.

The passion is not his alone. It has been inherited by his wife and three children with the whole family being able to solve them. It seems his children may be better at this aspect however.

"I am not a speedcuber but a collector. My average is around 44 seconds. I think that's OK for me; I don't have to break every record. Maybe my kids will do that one day."

While the rotating puzzles (and other memorabilia) take up a lot of space in the family home, Florian, and family, continue to search for more cubes when at stores or markets.

The prize possession of the collection is a Rubik's Cube from the first production line in Hungary that dates back to 1977.
