Work by the archaeologists from the University of Wales Cardiff during 1997 uncovered the buried remains of floors, made of rounded flints, at Golden Ball Hill, Marlborough, Wilts, UK. The floors are thought to have been laid down by Mesolithic people around 6,500 BC. The site has the characteristics of a sedentary, organised community thought to have been home to 200 people.
