Folk singer-songwriter/guitarist Francis Cabrel (France) has achieved the year-end No.1 sales ranking on SNEP’s (Syndicat national de l'édition phonographique) Top 200 Albums chart in France on three occasions: in 1994 (Samedi soir sur la Terre), 1999 (Hors-saison) and 2008 (Des roses et des orties). They are three of the eight successive studio albums that the 67-year-old musician took to No.1 on France’s national chart between 1989 and 2020.

Just two other artists have managed the biggest-selling album of a year in France more than once, and both did it in successive years with the same album: Adele (UK, b. Adele Adkins) in 2011-12 with 21, and Stromae (Belgium, b. Paul Van Haver) in 2013-14 with Racine carrée (“Square root”).
