The highest margin of victory in an English Premier League (EPL) match is 9 goals and was achieved by Manchester United F.C., in a 9-0 victory against Ipswich Town F.C., on 4 March 1995, and equalled by Leicester City F.C., in a 9-0 victory over Southampton F.C., on 25 October 2019, and equalled by Manchester United F.C., in a 9-0 victory over Southampton F.C., at Old Trafford, Manchester, on 2 February 2021.
Things went downhill quickly for the Saints after Alexandre Jankewitz was shown a straight red card inside the first two minutes of the match and by half time they were 4-0 down. This was only the second time in Premier League history (excluding own goals) that a side had seven different goalscorers in a single match, since Chelsea's 8-0 demolition of Aston Villa in 2012.
