Singer Olga Tañón (Puerto Rico, b. Olga Teresa Tañón Ortíz) has been nominated on 48 occasions for a Premio Lo Nuestro (PLN) award. Her first nomination came in 1990, ahead of the second annual awards show, when her merengue group Chantelle were shortlisted (and later won) Best New Artist of the Year (Tropical/Salsa). Tañón secured her 48th and most recent nomination for the 33rd PLN Awards, scheduled to take place at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida, USA, on 18 February 2021: Tropical Collaboration of the Year category for "Mi Corazón Es Tuyo", a collaboration with Manny Manuel. The PLN Awards are presented by the US-based Spanish-language TV network Univision to honour Latin music’s biggest stars.


Tañón’s 48 nominations (which include her 30 wins) have been achieved across 21 separate years between 1990 and 2021. She received the most nominations in 1999 (four nominations, one win) and 2006 (four nominations, four wins). Her most successful years in terms of award wins were 2006 (Best Tropical Album for Una Nueva Mujer, Best Tropical Song for “Bandolero”, Best Tropical Female Artist and Best Merengue Artist) and 2002 (Best Tropical Album for Yo Por Ti, Best Tropical Song for “Cómo Olvidar”, Best Tropical Female Artist and Best Merengue Performance. Also in 2002, she won a Premio del Pueblo (People’s Choice) special award for the album Yo Por Ti.

The total of 48 nominations excludes the special awards she received in 2002 (see above), 2008 (Trayectoria Artist of the Year) and 2018 (in recognition of her winning the most awards – 30 – in the history of the Premio Lo Nuestro Awards).
