The first person to kayak across the Atlantic from mainland North America to mainland Europe was Aleksander Doba (Poland), who kayaked solo 2905 nautical miles (5380 km or 3343 miles) from New York, United States to Le Conquet, France in 110 days between 16 May 2017 and 3 September 2017.

Aleksander Doba received assistance from vessel Baltic Light, in order to repair the rudder of the kayak called Olo. Doba was a septuagenarian during this voyage.
