The shortest world title fight lasted just 17 seconds, when Daniel Jimenez (Puerto Rico) knocked out Harold Geier (Austria) to defend his WBO super bantamweight title at Domplatz, Wiener Neustadt, Austria on 3 September 1994. Previous to this fight Harold Geier was undefeated having won his first 20 pro fights – it was Jimenez's second consecutive defence of his title having defeated Cristobal Pascual just a few months earlier. Standing at just 5 ft 5½ in, Jimenez is also one of the shortest world champions in terms of stature.
