Verlen Kruger and Steven Landick (both USA) travelled a distance of 45,129 km (28,043 miles), starting from Red Rock, Montana and finishing at Lansing, Michigan, USA, from 29 Apr 1980 to 15 Dec 1983. All portages were human powered.
They travelled via the Missouri, Great Lakes, Atlantic Coast, Gulf of Mexico, Mississippi, through Canada and Alaska down the Pacific Coast, to Gulf of California,up Colorado River and somehow back to Michigan.
