Most catches by a fielder in a One-Day International career

As of 3 June 2014, Mahela Jayawardene (Sri Lanka) had taken 204 catches in 417 One-Day International matches since making his debut against Zimbabwe on 24 January 1998. Jayawardene (full name Denagamage Proboth Mahela de Silva Jayawardene) notably holds another record, for the highest partnership in Test match cricket: 624 runs with Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) against South Africa in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 27-29 July 2006.

This record is for fielders excluding wicket-keepers. Jayawardene has built his reputation as a fine slip fielder as well as a prolific batsman, hence the number of catches taken throughout his career.
