Jayawardene (full name Denagamage Proboth Mahela de Silva Jayawardene) notably holds another record, for the highest partnership in Test match cricket: 624 runs with Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) against South Africa in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 27-29 July 2006.
