Wardian completed his record-breaking Antarctic marathon during the first leg of the World Marathon Challenge, in which competitors run seven marathons on seven continents in seven days. He went on to set the current fastest cumulative time for the event: 19 hours 21 minutes 36 seconds, at an average of 2:45:57 per marathon
