The most Olympic men’s handball titles is three, achieved by France in 2008, 2012 and 2021.
France defeated reigning champions Denmark 25–23 in the final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on 7 August 2021 to claim a record third title. They also won silver in 2016 and bronze in 1992.
