The first female general manager of a Major League Baseball team is Kim Ng (USA), earning the role at the Miami Marlins (USA), on 13 November 2020.
Kim Ng started her career as an intern at the Chicago White Sox when she was 21 and of her own admission saw 'when I got into this business, it seemed unlikely a woman would lead a major league team'. However 30 years on from her first job in the sport and 15 years on from her first interview to become a GM with the Chicago White Sox, the Miami Marlins announced the 51 year old Ng as their GM.
