Bob Dylan (USA, b. Robert Zimmerman) became the first act to achieve Top 20 studio albums on the US Billboard 200 chart in seven consecutive decades when Rough and Rowdy Ways debuted at No.2 on 4 July 2020.

Dylan’s first-ever Top 20 album in the US was his third studio release, The Times They Are A-Changin’, which climbed to its peak position of No.20 on 18 April 1964. The revered singer-songwriter registered five more Top 20 albums in the ‘60s, before his unprecedented run of success continued with 10 Top 20 albums (from 10 releases) in the ‘70s, one in the ‘80s (Infidels), one in the ‘90s (Time out of Mind), three in the ‘00s and three in the ‘10s. Rough and Rowdy Ways, Dylan’s 39th studio album, became his highest-charting release since 2009 to extend his Top 20 presence into a seventh decade.
