Most decades with a No.1 on the UK albums chart

The Rolling Stones (UK) have amassed 13 No.1s on the UK’s Official Albums Chart across six different decades. They topped the chart in the 1960s (The Rolling Stones; The Rolling Stones No.2; Aftermath; Let It Bleed), ‘70s (Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out!; Sticky Fingers; Exile on Main St; Goats Head Soup), ‘80s (Emotional Rescue), ‘90s (Voodoo Lounge), 2010s (Exile on Main St – re-issue; Blue & Lonesome) and 2020s (Goats Head Soup – re-issue).

The Beatles (‘60s-‘00s), Elvis Presley (‘50s-‘70s and ‘00s-‘10s) and Bob Dylan (‘60s-‘70s and ‘00s-‘20s) have all scored UK No.1 albums in five different decades.

The Stones missed the top spot in the 2000s but did achieve three No.2 hits: Forty Licks, A Bigger Bang and the Shine a Light soundtrack.
