The highest successful run chase in an IPL match is 226-6, and was achieved by the Rajasthan Royals chasing Kings XI Punjab's (both India) 223-2, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, on 28 September 2020.
The Royals chased down 223 in style with 3 balls to spare in an innings that saw fifties from Samson, Smith and Tewatia. Tewatia's innings proved the turning point in the match as he struggled early on only scoring 8 from his first 19 balls, but then in the 18th over dismantled West Indian quick Sheldon Cottrell hitting 5 sixes. Tewatia then fell to the last ball of the next over leaving Archer and Tom Curran to see the Royals home which they did comfortably with Curran hitting the only ball he faced to the ropes to win the game.
