Wrestler Mijaín López made Olympic history at the 2024 Games, becoming the first competitor to win an individual event five consecutive times. Having defeated Yasmani Acosta in the final of the men's Greco-Roman 130 kg on 6 August, the 41-year-old López left his shoes on the mat, signalling his retirement from the sport.
