Two balloons achieved the first overflight of the summit of Mount Everest on October 21, 1991. They were Star Flyer 1, piloted by Chris Dewhirst (Australia) with cameraman Leo Dickinson, and Star Flyer 2, piloted by Andy Elson and cameraman Eric Jones (all British). The two 6800 m³ 240,000 ft³ balloons set hot-air balloon records for the highest launch at 4735 m 15,536 ft and touch-down at 4940 m 16,200 ft.
