The largest balloon ever made, model number SF3-579.49-035-NSC-01, had an inflatable volume of 2,003,192 m³ 70,732,718 ft³ and was 239.49 m 785.78 ft in gore length. The unmanned balloon, manufactured by Winzen Research, Inc. (now Winzen Engineering, Inc.) of South St Paul, Minnesota, USA, was launched from the National Scientific Balloon facility in Palestine, Texas. There were no photographs of the attempt and the flight was "aborted on launch pad" on October 1, 1975.
