The first all-female aquanaut research team is the Tektite II mission, led by Sylvia Earle with Alina Szmant, Ann Hartline, Margaret Ann "Peggy" Lucas Bond (all USA) and Renate True (Brazil), in 1970.
Tektite II was conducted in the U.S. Virgin Islands, comprising of ten missions lasting up to twenty days at a depth of around 43 ft (13.10 m).
