The most expensive women's football (soccer) transfer is £250,000 ($333,655 / €279,801), paid by Chelsea F.C. Women to VfL Wolfsburg Women for the transfer of Pernille Harder (Denmark), on 1 September 2020.
Although the fee was not officially disclosed, Wolfsburg Frauen sporting director Ralf Kellermann stated they had received a "record transfer fee for the women's game" when the transfer was announced, with multiple reports putting the fee at around a quarter of a million pounds.
Harder, who plays as an attacking midfielder or striker, spent four seasons with Wolfsburg, winning the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double, as well as featuring in two Champions League finals.
