IN 2019, NASA's Juno probe orbiting Jupiter had the first ever view of Jupiter's north pole. To everyone's surprise, nine cyclones were observed stably orbiting Jupiter's north pole. The cyclones, each larger than North America are arranged with one cyclone in the centre, orbited by eight further cyclones in a geometrically spaced pattern. A similar set of cyclones are seen on Jupiter's south pole, but only seven similarly sized cyclones exist there as of December 2019.
