The largest super yacht is the Azzam, which is 180 m (590 ft) long – that is, 16.5 m (54 ft) longer than the previous record holder, the Eclipse. The Azzam is owned by the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nayan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of Abu Dhabi. However the value of the Eclipse is reported to be in the region of £740 million, whereas the Azzam is reported to have cost "only" £390 million, so the Eclipse remains the most expensive super yacht to have be constructed.
