The Royal Clipper is 133.8 m (439 ft) in length with 5,202 sq m (56,000 sq ft) of canvas on five masts, with 42 sails reaching 60 m (197 ft)  (3.6 m or 12 ft  taller than Nelson's Column) above the waterline and a maximum speed of 20 knots. She has a displacement of 5,000 tonnes (11.023 million lb). She can carry up to 228 passengers and a crew of 106.

The Royal Clipper is the flagship of 'tall ship' operator Star Clippers owned by Swedish Mikael Krafft. She has been designed by a British Team of naval architects. She offers luxury accomodation for up to 228 passengers, with a three deck midships atrium, funneling sunlight down through one of three swimming pools, a piano lounge, de-luxe shops,  a spa and gym, an expanisve dining room and a forward observation lounge for up to 90 people. The ship's tenders each carry 150 passengers for quick disembarkation at ports and she also has two unsinkable landing craft, wahc with a capacity of 60, there are teak decks witha grandstand and sun deck which overlooks the ship's bridge, enabling a view of all that lies ahead. Each cabin has a private marble bathroom, individual climate control and is serviced twice daily.
