The only seven-masted sailing schooner ever built was the 114.4 m (375 ft 4 in) long Thomas W. Lawson (5,218 gross tons), built at Quincy, Massachusetts, USA in 1902 and wrecked off the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall on 15 December 1907.
