Most MTV VMA nominations for Best Collaboration

Rihanna (Barbados, b. Robyn Rihanna Fenty), Ariana Grande (USA, b. Ariana Grande-Butera) and Drake (Canada, b. Aubrey Drake Graham) are tied on six Best Collaboration nominations apiece at the MTV Video Music Awards. Grande is the only one of the trio to win the category, for “Rain on Me” (with Lady Gaga) in 2020; Rihanna and Drake joined forces for “Work” in 2016.

Rihanna – 2011 (with Kanye West & Kid Cudi), 2014 (with Eminem), 2016 (two nominations, with Calvin Harris and with Drake), 2017 (with DJ Khaled & Bryson Tiller), 2018 (with N.E.R.D.).

Grande – 2014 (with Iggy Azalea), 2015 (two nominations, with The Weeknd and with Jessie J & Nicki Minaj), 2016 (with Lil Wayne), 2020 (two nominations, with Lady Gaga and with Justin Bieber).

Drake – 2011 (with Nicki Minaj), 2016 (with Rihanna), 2020 (with Future), 2021 (with Lil Durk), 2022 (with Future & Young Thug), 2024 (with Sexyy Red & SZA).

Best Collaboration was first awarded – as Most Earthshattering Collaboration – in 2007.
