The oldest living snake in captivity is Annie (South Africa, b. 1 June 1983) who is 37 years 317 days old, as verified on the 14 May 2021.

Annie is a green anaconda from South Africa where she was owned by Paul Swires from 1989 until 2004, when he gave her to Monte Casino Bird & Reptile Park in Johannesburg. Paul keeps in regular contact with the park who give him updates on Annie's wellbeing.

Annie is quite a popular resident of the park given her age and size. She weighs over 40 kg and is over 4 metres long. The zoo keepers at the park have said that Annie is a very calm and sweet snake to care for.
