The fastest time to visit every location on the London Monopoly® board by bicycle (team) is 2 hr 42 min 47 sec and was achieved by Edd Stone, Phil Sturgeon, Steve Kerry, and Ben Smith (all UK) in London, UK, on 15 July 2021.
Edd had completed a Guinness World Records attempt recently, by e-unicycling from Lands End to John O'Groats.
"We decided to set a Guinness World Records title for cycling the monopoly board as one had been set by running it, and cycling seemed like a similar challenge. I had cycled the Board the previous year (including all square and in order) which was over 9hrs of cycling! Training routine to complete this simply consisted of cycling it city traffic as much as possible, which is a daily routine for us all anyway!"
The main challenge on the day for the team were traffic lights. "We thought cycling 30km in under 4hrs would be easy but we ended up waiting at lights for over an hour making the time quite a challenge! We also got caught at tower bridge as it was raised, so we had to detour via London bridge. Old Kent Rd (our start point, and the only square south of the river) took as far longer than any other as a result of these delays!"
"I hope that this will not be my last Guinness World Records title as I'm hoping to build a collection!"
