The fastest woman to climb Everest twice is Anshu Jamsenpa (India), who first reached the top at 9.15 a.m. on 16 May 2017 then, following a return to basecamp, repeated the feat five days later, summitting by 7.45 a.m. on 21 May.

Dr Jamsenpa hails from Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh, India. Her climb was verified by the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mountaineering Division. Supplementary oxygen was used.

As of 2024, the most climbs of Everest in one season by a woman is three, by Purnima Shrestha (Nepal), but Dr Jamsenpa still holds the record for the fastest time for two ascents.
