Esther Vergeer (Netherlands) won seven Paralympic tennis wheelchair titles – four in singles at consecutive Games (Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012) and three in doubles at Sydney 2000 (with Maaike Smit), Athens 2004 (again with Smit) and London 2012 (with Marjolein Buis). No other player – male or female – has won more than three Paralympic singles and doubles titles combined.
Vergeer, who retired in 2013, also won 44 Grand Slam titles in wheelchair singles (21) and doubles (23) between 2002 and 2012.
