The farthest distance by hydrofoil paddleboard in 12 hours is 213.89 km (132.90 mi), achieved by James Casey (Australia) in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on 21 April 2022.

James has a long history of endurance water events, including several crossing of the Kaiwi channel on a stand-up paddleboard. He had always talked with his father about the potential for very long distance “surfing” of swells, so when hydrofoiling rose to prominence in 2017, it quickly became his favourite. Following the passing of his father, James was determined to test how far you could go, and realised attempting this Guinness World Records title was the perfect way to do this.
