Across all formats, three cricketers have taken five wickets in a six-ball over: Neil Wagner (New Zealand; W-W-W-W-dot-W), for Otago against Wellington in the Plunket Shield at the Queenstown Events Centre, New Zealand, on 6 April 2011; Al-Amin Hossain (Bangladesh; W-2-W-W-W-W), for the UCB-BCB XI against Abahani Limited in the Victory Day T20 Cup at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh, on 26 December 2013; and Abhimanyu Mithun (India; W-W-W-W-wide-1-W), for Karnataka against Haryana in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Surat, India, on 29 November 2019.
Four of Wagner’s five victims in the three-day first-class match were bowled; the first in the sequence was caught.
All five of Hossain’s wickets were caught. He was the first bowler to achieve the feat in a Twenty20/limited overs match.
All five of Mithun’s single-over scalps were caught. He, too, took his wickets in a Twenty20 match.
No cricketer has achieved the feat in an international match.
