In 2019, Roger Federer (Switzerland) claimed a notable "first" on the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) Tour by winning his 10th career titles on two different surfaces: on the grass at Germany’s Halle Open on 23 June, and on hard courts at the Swiss Indoors tournament in Basel, Switzerland, on 27 October.

Federer defeated David Goffin 7-6, 6-1 at the 2019 Halle Open on 23 June for his 10th title in Germany, before securing his 10th title in Switzerland with a 6-2, 6-2 win against Alex de Minaur on 27 October.
