Dangerous: The Double Album by Morgan Wallen (USA) spent 97 non-consecutive weeks at No.1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart between its debut on 23 January 2021 and 11 March 2023.
Across nine separate chart-topping runs – including three of at least 20 weeks in duration – the former Voice contestant’s (Season 6) two-disc, 30-track, six-times-platinum second studio effort demolished the previous single-album record of 50 weeks at No.1, shared by Shania Twain’s Come on Over (1997–2000) and This One’s for You by Luke Combs (2017–19).
Dangerous knocked albums by Combs (twice), Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift (three times), Kacey Musgraves, Zach Bryan and Hardy off No.1 and was eventually dethroned for good on 18 March 2023 by his own follow-up, One Thing at a Time, itself a 25-week chart-topper as of 14 October 2023.
No.1 weeks for Dangerous: The Double Album on Top Country Albums: 23 Jan 2021 to 3 Apr 2021 (11 weeks); 17 Apr 2021 (1); 8 May 2021 to 18 Sep 2021 (20); 2-9 Oct 2021 (2); 23 Oct 2021 to 20 Nov 2021 (5); 15 Jan 2022 to 28 May 2022 (20); 11 Jun 2022 to 2 Jul 2022 (4); 16 Jul 2022 to 28 Jan 2023 (29); 11 Feb 2023 to 11 Mar 2023 (5) – its 112th week on the chart.
Wallen broke the Twain/Combs 50-week record with a 51st week at No.1 on 2 April 2022. Top Country Albums was first published by Billboard – under the title Hot Country Albums – on 11 January 1964.
