Johan Ernst Nilson (Sweden) topped Everest in May 2007, then began the polar stages by being dropped at the North Pole on 6 May 2011 and reaching land on foot on 22 June 2011. He then completed a South Pole trek on 19 January 2012. Having left from 90°N, Nilson achieved the first Three Poles Challenge - North Pole to land.
