Kubica finished in 5th place for Renault at the 2010 season-ending grand prix at Abu Dhabi. In 6 February 2011, he suffered serious injuries, including a partially severed right forearm, following a crash at the Ronde di Andora rally. He returned to racing and won a seat as a driver for Williams for the 2019 Formula One season, despite the lack of full function in his right arm. At the 2019 German Grand Prix, Kubica finished in 10th place to score his first F1 championship point in more than eight years.
