The most wins of the IHF World Handball Player of the Year award by a female player is 4, achieved by Cristina Neagu (Romania) in 2010, 2015, 2016 and 2018.
Left back Neagu finished as top scorer in the 2017/18 EHF Champions League with 110 goals for her side CSM București, and became the all-time top scorer in the EHF Women’s EURO championship with 237 goals. She is the only player, male or female, to have won the Player of the Year Award four times.
