Largest serving of braised pork

The largest serving of braised pork weighs 525 kg (1,157 lb 6.83 oz), and was achieved by Xiang Tan New Hunan Agriculture Ecology Technology Co., Ltd. (China) in Xiangtan, Hunan, China, on 15 January 2020.

Shaziling Pig is recognised as a particularly good local pig breed in Hunan, and is known as one of the best types of meat for cooking Mao's braised pork, which is a famous Hunan dish. The organiser attempted the record to increase the awareness of Shaziling Pig.

In the morning of the attempt day, the organiser invited about 200 attendees to attend a forum on agricultural development topics and the attempt was arranged at lunch time after the morning session. After the attempt, some of the braised pork was packed into meal boxes and was donated to several social welfare institutes in Xiangtan and the attendees shared the rest.
